I really enjoyed in the begging of the year when we did constructions with tools because it allowed me to see how lines and different shapes work together to make interesting lines and shapes. I found this to be extremely interesting because my brain works in 3d so being able to see invisible lines that make different shapes and lines is allowing me to think that there is other construction that my mind can make up and apply to theories out in the world. I also liked all of the different type of intersections with a triangle it really started making me think with angles intersection and points to go with that. This interests me because using the centroid you can find a place of balance no matter what triangle leading me to believe that other things can that are not triangles can have a centroid like a mountain bike. This is interesting to me because I want to design mountain bikes and knowing the point of gravity is probably very important.
A Problem of the week is where my teacher gives me a problem to solve in my free time and I have one week to do it. My favorite one is the Luther method Problem of the week. This is my favorite one because the problem was to try and find out how Luther proves that the exterior angles of a triangle add up to 360 degrees with a pencil and not making one mark with the pencil. I liked this one because it was interesting and very confusing. Bye the way he proved it by taking the pencil and tracing the perimeter of the triangle showing that the same side of the pencil face the same direction.
My reaction to the idea that Math is beautiful is complete understanding. Math is beautiful because once you apply it to a field beautiful things can come out of it. What do you think house are originally. They are a bunch of points lines and numbers so that the house you are building is beautiful. Some of the coolest things in life are derived with math, what do you think cares bikes snowboards and other cool toy are? They are precision objects that have been analyzed with numbers in order to confirm that you get the best performance.
